2026 Meetings and Events

CVMC meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month. We meet at 6:00 p.m. at the Hogshead Cafe, 8902 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA. Members gather at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy a meal and social time, which is followed by a discussion of club business and the opportunity to share news about our cars or other information of interest to club members.

Drives, tours and special events are held throughout the year and provide opportunities to enjoy a group Miata drive through the beautiful Virginia countryside. Although the schedule varies, drives are generally held on the Saturday following the monthly meeting, weather permitting.

Cruise: Sunday, March 22 - "Maple Festival Cruise" (from Staunton to Highland County, VA)

Some of you may choose to get hotel reservations in Staunton, VA on Saturday, March 21, and join us Sunday morning for a second day of cruising! If you would like to join us, make reservations at a hotel in Staunton ASAP. A few of us have made reservations at:

On Sunday, we will drive over 100 miles back roads from Staunton through the mountains and valleys (over hill, over dale) of Highland County with a few stops along the way… including a Trout Farm and a Sugar Camp or two. Sometime later Sunday afternoon, we will end up in Monterey, VA – The center of the activity for their 66th Annual Highland County Maple Festival. (But Sunday will focus more on driving through the beautiful Highland County countryside!)

This will be the LAST day of the Maple Festival. Most of the Craft/Food vendors will be open on Sunday from 9 am – 4 pm.

Please note: Once we arrive in Monterey will be very busy during the maple festival so, once we arrive, parking and exploring will probably be "on-our-own."

Cruise: Saturday, April 25 - Cruise to Bowling Green

We invite you to join us on Saturday, April 25th for a Cruise to Bowling Green! We will gather in the parking lot of the Kroger in Mechanicsville. We will take a break at the Burger King/Sheetz in Tappahannock before continuing on to Bowling Green for lunch at Roma’s Italian Restaurant. Lots of unmarked roads and some great zoomie spots in the route.

Cruise: RESCHEDULED FOR Saturday, May 30 - Ferry to the Patio for a Picnic

So sorry we had to reschedule the May 23 cruise to Saturday, May 30th due to weather. We hope you can join us for our "Ferry to the Patio" cruise on this new date. Roger and Judy are hosting our cruise as a BYOPL (bring your own picnic lunch) on the patio at their home at the end of the cruise.

We will travel through New Kent County then down towards Williamsburg. Our mid-point stop will be at the Jamestown Settlement Facility at 2110 Jamestown Rd, Williamsburg, VA.

We will leave as one group and board the James River Ferry then meander through Surry and Prince George Counties. Hopefully we will get some great pictures of our Miata’s on the Ferry.

THE PICNIC LUNCH:

Once we arrive at Judy's home, please do not park on any cultivated grass! They, and their neighbors, have irrigation heads placed along the roadway edges.

REMEMBER to bring your own picnic lunch and beverage, a camp chair, one per car should work! Judy has seating for 20 folks on the patio and 10 or so in the “Chesapeake Room” (4 season room attached to their house) and more in the house if weather pushes us indoors.

Roger and Judy will have some bottled water and a limited beer selection available.

SPECIAL EVENT: AACA 57th Annual Richmond Collector Car Show & Swap Meet - Saturday, June 13

RAIN OR SHINE... The Richmond Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America is holding its Annual Car Show on Saturday, June 13th at St. Joseph's Villa in Richmond. Once again, our Club has been invited to participate. If we have enough participants, we may have our own class (and trophies) again this year. The Class will either be named Miata or Mazda.

SPECIAL EVENT: Wheels & Warbirds - July 11

We hope you can join us on a cruise to the Culpeper Airport in Brandy Station, VA to attend Wheels & Warbirds, a display of exotic and classic cars and WW2 airplanes sponsored by the Capital Wing Commemorative Air Force.

Please join us for our July cruise—Deltaville or Bust!

We'll depart from Hanover and enjoy some of Virginia's finest country roads as we make our way to Deltaville. Once there, we'll spend some time exploring the Farmers Market and the Maritime
Museum.

It promises to be a great day of driving, food, music, and fellowship. We hope you'll join us!

Please plan to bring a chair so you can relax and enjoy the afternoon.

Stay for the CONCERT featuring Dango ft. Danny Kensy and Barefoot Joe. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. and the concert begins at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the gate.

SPECIAL EVENT: Miatas at the Gap: Wednesday, August 5 - Sunday, August 9

Simply put, MATG is THE longest running and one of the largest Miata gatherings in the country. Located near the Tail of the Dragon, Miatas at the Gap brings enthusiasts together to drive some of the greatest roads in the country. 2026 will be the 30th anniversary of MATG!

Dee and Greg have put together a tentative itinerary for our Miatas at the Gap trip. By no means do we need to follow it exactly, but they wanted to have a plan in the binder to give everyone an idea of what they're thinking. As always, we're on vacation, so flexibility is the key!

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5 – Travel Day

We'll caravan to Fontana Village with several planned meeting points and fuel/rest stops. Let Greg know which starting point you will be at, we don't want to leave without you.
